March 27, 2026 at 7:30pm

Toronto Symphony concertmaster Jonathan Crow will dazzle with Mendelssohn’s romantic violin concerto. One of Canada’s brightest talents and a founding member of the JUNO Award-winning New Orford String Quartet, violinist Jonathan Crow exudes “masterful coolness” (The Montreal Gazette) and “serious intensity”. Also on the program, Sinfonia Ancaster’s presentation of four joyful works will give voice to the thrilling sense of renewal and boundless possibility that comes with the changing season.

  • Ottorino Respighi – Botticelli Triptych
  • Alice Ping Yee Ho – Jubilation of Spring
  • Antonio Vivaldi – Sinfonia RV 168, B–minor, “Al Santo Sepolcro”
  • Maurice Ravel – Mother Goose Suite
  • Felix Mendelssohn – Violin Concerto, with Jonathan Crow, violin

In the exciting finale to our 2025-2026 season, Sinfonia’s own principal cellist, Amber Ghent, will captivate the audience with a performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto, an elegiac masterpiece (and his last major work). Also on the program, the orchestra performs internationally-renowned Canadian composer Samy Moussa’s shimmering Elysium, which paints a breathtaking sonic picture of the afterlife. Finally, the towering and magnificent 3rd Symphony of Saint-Saëns, with guest artist Ian Sadler on organ, will have you on your feet! Popularized on the soundtrack of the 1995 family movie Babe, the composer’s third symphony perfectly showcases the scale of its namesake instrument.

  • Samy Moussa – Elysium
  • Edward Elgar – Cello Concerto, with Amber Ghent, cello
  • Camille Saint-Saëns – Symphony No. 3, with Ian Sadler, organ
